Sleep Studies

Polysomnography, also called a sleep study, is a test used to diagnose sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, periodic limb movement disorder, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, 失眠, sleepwalking and REM behavior disorder. Conducted in a room that is made comfortable and dark for sleeping, this exam allows providers to see what’s happening in your brain and body while you are asleep.

“I received nothing but the best of care! They put all my nerves at ease and made me feel really comfortable. Everyone was accommodating and did an outstanding job of taking care of my needs before, 在, and after my sleep study.”

Monitoring sleep stages and cycles to identify sleep patterns.
IN-CENTER POLYSOMNOGRAPHY (PSG)
In-center polysomnography, or diagnostic PSG offers all the comforts and amenities of home, where you can relax and have a typical night’s sleep. PSG records your brain waves, heart rate and breathing as you sleep. It charts eye movements, limb movements, and oxygen in your blood. This test rules out sleep disorders such as obstructive and central sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome. periodic limb movement disorder, narcolepsy, 失眠, sleepwalking and REM behavior disorder.
Split Night Titration Polysomnography
Split night, is an in-center sleep test that begins with diagnostic polysomnography, to monitor your vitals and movements. If it is determined that you have sleep apnea, you will be placed on CPAP and the test switches to titration to monitor and adjust PAP settings until a therapeutic level is reached. This helps patients to breathe and sleep better while maintaining appropriate oxygen levels. For those who are unable to complete two overnight in-center tests, this is a beneficial test.
Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HST)
HST is a self-administrated diagnostic sleep study that takes place in the comfort of your own home. It is used to diagnose or rule out sleep apnea by recording breathing effort, heart rate, oxygen saturation, nasal flow and snoring. For patients that have no medical issues such as pulmonary disease, neuromuscular disease or congestive heart failure this is a cost effective alternative to in-center sleep testing. However, HST can only diagnose sleep apnea and may require follow up in-center study.
